RV Rentals in California

Posted by: RV Traveler | Comments (0)

For anyone planning an RV vacation, California is a state that offers fun things to do for just about every member of the family. An RV is a great way to explore this great state for several reasons: camping in RV parks can be cost-effective for a family, you can have all of your belongings with you rather than in suitcases, and you can cover a lot of ground in an RV letting you see many different destinations.

RV rentals in California can be found at numerous spots around the state. Most of the establishments offer a wide range of models to choose from: the Class A Styles, Class C Cabover Styles, Fifth Wheels, and Towables. Take some time to look over the different models and floorplans before choosing what model will suit you and the number of people you are traveling with. Most of the rental places will have a website with information on models, pricing, contracts , and reservations.

Be sure to be clear on all of the rental conditions and restrictions before signing any contracts. Visit “Ten Tips for RV Renters” to learn more about tips for rv renters.

Heavy but functional

Review Date: June 1, 2010
Reviewer: Shortwithout, Columbus, Ohio
Bought this grill because we needed something for camping (not backpacking.) We love it and have used it many times for camping, tailgating etc. Heats up fast and efficiently, the starter works everytime. Only complaints are 1) the grill grate is really heavy (for a grill grate) which makes the grill heavy, 2) the heating element is not removable so cleaning can sometimes take some patience if something drips more than expected.

Invaluable Guide

Review Date: May 31, 2006
Reviewer: Russell J. Howe, Aurora, Ontario Canada
I have been travelling to Penn. over the last couple of years and thought I had run out of all the good stuff to enjoy. Boy was I wrong! This guide book let me know about a number of hidden gems that I had missed that were just fantastic. The format is simple to use, and the Top lists helped me quickly focus in on the best locations for each topic.

I would strongly recommend this book to anyone who plans to visit Penn and loves the outdoors, even if you are not tenting or RVing.
Great Book

The book was very helpful in finding a great spot to go camping.
I have even lent it out to friends.
A thorough guide to camping in Pennsylvania

Review Date: March 8, 2008
Reviewer: J. Good, Pennsylvania, USA
Pennsylvania Camping is designed to be a guidebook on campgrounds in Pennsylvania, and (as with any guidebook) some information will invariably change after publication. Others have given the book poor ratings based on innacurate information that's most likely not the fault of the authors. The book's descriptions of the campgrounds I'm familiar with are quite accurate, and the information presented is certainly very useful for planning a camping getaway. Not only are the facilities described in detail but tourist sites, hiking trails, and recreational opportunities in the area are also mentioned. This helps to ensure that you won't miss out on nearby attractions simply because you weren't aware of them. The inclusion of various bits of local history adds depth to the reviews as well.

I think one addition to the book which would be of use in our GPS-enabled world would be to provide the GPS coordinates of each campground entrance, or a street address which can easily be punched into a GPS unit. The contact information provided for some campgrounds is for a PO box or mailing address and not the actual address you'd need to drive to, which is what a GPS understands.

Overall, I believe the book is certainly a good value for the price, and it contains much more information than you'd find in an AAA travel guide. The authors have researched their subject well and their love of the outdoors is obvious through their writing. If you're planning a camping trip in the Keystone state, picking up a copy of Moon Outdoors Pennsylvania Camping beforehand will help you make the most of your adventure.
Excellent Guide

Review Date: June 12, 2007
Reviewer: R. Schiffbauer,
This guide does a great job of describing and rating the numerous campgrounds that Pennsylvania has to offer. I would recommend this book to anyone who is planning to visit the area, or to those who live in Pennsylvania and have yet to discover what lies in their own backyard.

Product Description

Originally manufactured by Coleman from 1954 to 1994, the classic steel-belted cooler makes a comeback in a big way as part of the company's centennial tradition. The original steel-belted cooler was revered for its traditional look, feel, and strength, as well as its amazing performance. This time around, however, Coleman made it even better by updating the design, adding a stainless-steel lid, case, and hardware, and beefing up the insulation. The result is a cooler that bests the competition by a wide margin. The 54-quart cooler's construction features include a stainless-steel lid and case that provide durability and protection for your food items; large, sturdy stainless-steel handles with rubber comfort grips for easy transport; a new solid-steel latch that seals better while still securing the contents; and stainless-steel hinges and screws that resist rust and breakage.

On the inside, the cooler includes a durable base and liner that are easy to clean, along with a leakproof, rust-resistant drain that empties quickly. Completely redesigned for today's active lifestyles, the cooler measures 24.25 by 16.75 by 16.75 inches (W x H x D) and carries a limited six-year warranty.

About Coleman
The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.

Product Details

  • Holds 85 cans
  • Stainless-steel handles with rubber grip for easy carrying
  • Solid steel latch securely seals contents
  • Rustproof, leak-resistant channel drain for no-tilt draining
  • Easy-to-clean base, lid & liner
