Ultimate Extreme Cooler lasts 6 days

Review Date: July 25, 2008
Reviewer: Richard A. Ferguson, Colorado
I ordered the cooler for a five day river trip. It held ice six days, despite not protecting it from the sun while we were on the river. We started the trip with two and a half 10 pound blocks of ice. (If you buy cubes, don't expect the ice to last six days). As far as I am concerned, it met the 6 day specification. Our friends has the Coleman Xtreme cooler, which did just about as well, so that would also be a good choice.

Note that it is smaller inside than you would expect from the outside dimensions, due to the thick insulation. The thick insulation is needed to keep things cold for six days.

It really is a 6-day cooler!

We put our food and 2 blocks of ice in this cooler and headed for the mountains, where the days were in the 70s or 80s, and the nights in the upper 40s to 50s. We did not need to add or replace ice on our one-week trip. Eight days after packing the cooler, we arrived home with very cold water and no food spoilage in the cooler. This is the best performance we've ever had from a cooler. Highly recommended.
Worked great

We packed the cooler with refrigerated food on a Friday morning. It sat in our hot car (90 degrees outside) for three full days and our remaining food was still very cold when we unpacked on Sunday night. There was some ice still left in the cooler. We love it!
Great cooler-cheap hinges

Review Date: June 19, 2009
Reviewer: T. Scott,
We always use frozen 16 oz. water bottles to keep our coolers cool because as they thaw, they don't make a watery mess and we can drink the water. This cooler has kept bottles frozen for days in a metal bear box in the sun. It's a great cooler, but the hinges are cheap, thin plastic that break almost every time you use it. You can order new hinges and replace them, but it gets old.

This cooler really works! It kept the contents plus the ice cold while sitting in the back of my pick up truck while temps were hitting 90. I rely on it regularly to transport food to my vacation home four hours away.
